The evening department: waves, coffee pace, no meeting minutes.

Friday had one job: kite. Not sightseeing, not heroic mileage, not a complicated cultural programme. Just wait for the wind, then use it properly when it finally stopped being theoretical.

Until midday Velika Plaža was doing its calm performance. Almost no wind; when something moved, it came from offshore, which is not the friendly beginner setting. Offshore wind is excellent if your plan is to leave Montenegro gradually and without paperwork. I declined.

The beach still offered useful research. Without wind, and without proper flip-flops, moving across the dark sand is basically interval training designed by a committee that dislikes feet. The sand absorbs heat, steals momentum, and politely reminds you that a long beach can be long in several legal senses. The crocs were not fashion. They were infrastructure.

Another operational lesson: putting on the neoprene too early is not recommended unless one has a private enthusiasm for portable saunas. A wetsuit in full sun while the wind has not yet arrived is less “sport preparation” and more “human sous-vide with zip closure”. Good to know. Science advanced.

Around 13:00, the day changed. The wind finally started and, this time, came from the ideal onshore direction. Suddenly the waiting had a purpose. Kite, board, water, repeat. No meaningful photos from the session itself, because the next days have settled into a very efficient rhythm: eat, sleep, kite, repeat. The camera has accepted its temporary demotion.

By evening the coast slowed everything down again. Food, coffee, sunset, and the heavy rhythm of the sea doing the only soundtrack that made sense. The body is now issuing polite but firm notifications about the second week: save some energy, idiot. Tomorrow is the last day on Velika Plaža, and then the story turns north along the coast.
